The training focuses on best practices in HIV care; on dialogue between health care providers and patients; on solidarity with PLWH. The traininghas been designed to promote a share of experiences between PLWH and HCP giving a special focus to doctor-patient relationship.


“Mental Health and Addiction in prisons” training

This workshop is organized by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)and Pompidou Group/Council of Europe in partnership with the Department for Penitentiary Institutions/Ministry of Justice. It is designed for medical staff health workers, educational staff and probation officers working with inmates regarding health, mental health, Opium Substitution Treatment standards and recommendations.

Global Commission on HIV and the Law

In the period 18-19 May 2011 in Chisinau will be more than 110 representatives of governments and civil societies from 13 countries for the Regional Dialogue on HIV and legal framework of the Global Commission  to discuss how the law and its implementation can contribute to an effective response to AIDS in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. 


Special Youth Programme 2011

The UNAIDS Special Youth Programme seeks to recruit young people aged 20-24 from developing countries with some programme experience in HIV related issues to join UNAIDS for a 9-month remunerated fellowship. The fellowship is divided into two sections: an initial fellowship in UNAIDS Geneva, followed – upon satisfactory performance - by a continued fellowship in the UNAIDS country office (UCO) in the fellow’s country of origin.


National Workshop for Validation of the Results of Data Triangulation

18th Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections

Over 4000 researchers and doctors are expected to attend this year’s Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) in Boston. CROI is one of the major international HIV conferences. The topics covered by the conference are scientific – focusing on understanding, preventing and treating HIV and AIDS.

TB and HIV programmes must constantly use communications tools in order to spread health messages, increase partnerships, and promote health projects along with a host of other activities. To help health organisations face these challenges, The Union’s International Management Development Programme (IMDP) offers a special, one-week training on Mass Media and Communications developed especially for health professionals.


Central Asia MARPs size estimation workshop

A workshop is planned for the countries in the Central Asia Region from 25-28 April, 2011 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The workshop will provide the information, skills and guidance needed to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate appropriate HIV interventions targeting most-at-risk populations in these countries.

Movement Strategies for Journalists
