Development of Course Support on Protection of Rights of People Living with HIV

The idea is to revise the curricular of Law schools to reflect HIV and human rights protection of people living with HIV/AIDS and of vulnerable groups. The activity is carried out within the Project “Reduction of HIV-related Burden in the Republic of Moldova”, financially supported by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Round VIII.

September 2010

Institute for Human Rights from Moldova developed the draft Concept of the Guidelines on Promotion and Protection of People Living with HIV/AIDS for lawyers, attorneys, members of specialized NGO and people living with HIV. A course support within discipline “International Protection of Human Rights” for students learning at Law Faculty of the State University of Moldova, Department of International Law and of Foreign Economic Relations Law, specializing in international law was developed. According to the agreement signed before, a course support within discipline “Medical Law” for students learning at Law Faculty of the State University of Moldova, Department of Labor Law, specializing in private law (civil) was developed. In order to revise the curricular of Law schools to reflect HIV and human rights protection of people living with HIV/AIDS and vulnerable groups, on April 15 was signed a Cooperation Agreement between Moldovan Institute for Human Rights (IDOM) and the Law Faculty of the State University of Moldova. According to the above-mentioned, the Parties agreed to cooperate in introducing in the University curricula of a separate course or of several hours within certain fields of studies on different subjects. Please find below the agreement.
