The Republic of Moldova is applying for the X Funding Round of the Global Fund to Fight TB, AIDS and Malaria (GFATM) following the decision of the National Coordination Council for HIV/AIDS/STI Prophylaxis and Control and TB Control Programmes. The application is going to be based on HIV/AIDS component, focused on prevention and control activities among vulnerable groups (IDU, CSW, MSM).

NCC TB/AIDS Secretariat has launched the contest for the selection of the Principal Recipient/s (PR) to implement the financial resources obtained from Global Fund (GF), round 10 (in case the country's application is approved). The contest is being organized in accordance with the Ministry of Health Order no. 494 as of July 19, 2010.
Briefly, the procedure of PR selection is as follows:
1. Organizing the contest for the PR position based on CV of the organization and CVs’ collection (July, 19-28, 2010);
2. Analysis and evaluation of the files by the National Experts Committee, established through the Ministry of Health Order (July 28 – August 3, 2010);
3. Analysis and evaluation of the files and of the preliminary decision taken by the National Committee by the NCC on TB/AIDS members - (August 4 - the date of NCC TB/AIDS meeting);
4. Taking the final decision during the NCC TB/AIDS meeting – the first half of August.

The joint meeting of the Technical Working Groups on Treatment and Harm Reduction in HIV, followed by the TWG Treatment meeting on TB were organized as of July 13, 2010. Working agenda includes:
- Discussion of concepts ideas for Round X of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, HIV/AIDS component;
2. Plan on procurement of anti-TB drugs for 2011.
