From Sunday 3rd to Thursday 7th April, in Beirut was held the 22nd International Harm Reduction Conference. This event was organized for the first time in the Middle East and North African region. In order to design an effective M&E work plan to operationalize the National M&E Plan, a new M&E system assessment needs to be carried out to assess participatory the functionality of each of the 12 components of the M&E system. The pre-workshop stage involves a detailed inventory of M&E system strengthening interventions and preparing packages of supporting information per component. Every 4th person in Moldova felt discriminated last year

In the Republic of Moldova the most discriminated are persons with mental and physicaldisabilities. It is the conclusion of a study – “Perceptions of population from the Republic of Moldova regarding the phenomenon of discrimination”, launched on Wednesday, February 23. The same research found that the majority of people avoid going to the clinic, getting out in the street, addressing to police or mayor because they are afraid to be discriminated.

The aim of the 2011Universal Access reviews to be conducted in Moldova is to provide an opportunity for stakeholders and constituencies to take stock of steps towards national targets, identify current obstacles and decide together about what needs to be done now in order to achieve universal access and ultimately the MDGs.

The UNAIDS Moldova in collaboration with the Tiraspol AIDS Center intends to conduct a research targeting to assess women and girls' vulnerability to HIV/AIDS in Transnistria region. An American who has lived thirty years with HIV received an award for fighting AIDS

Eric Sawyer is the first recipient of the AIDS activism award given by Housing Works, an organization he cofounded in 1994. Case won in the Supreme Court on a case of a foreign person living with HIV in the Republic of Moldova

On December 22nd, 2010, the Supreme Court of Justice gave in favor of an HIV infected immigrant living in Republic of Moldova, and obliged the Bureau of Migration and Asylum to issue, on his name, a certificate of immigrant.

Ms.S.N., a 28 years old foreign citizen, married to Mr.G.V., a Moldovan citizen in 2005. Both of them are living in Republic of Moldova and have a minor child.

Recruitment of consultants for situational analysis and needs assessment of the M&E sub-national system in Transnistria

Transnistria presents its regional specifics in terms of institutional infrastructure and hierarchy, most being inherited from the Soviet Union and being largely untouched by reforms. A simple extrapolation of the existing M&E system levels and organizational structures that function on the right bank is not feasible. In order to paint an in-depth picture of the existence and functionality of M&E system components on the left bank, a team of national consultants shall carry out a needs assessment.
