Training seminar on HIV/AIDS policies at the workplace for representatives of companies / firms from Moldova

AIDS Foundation East - West (AFEW) representative in Moldovain partnership with the National Confederation of Employers in Moldova organized in the period 24-25 May a training seminar entitled "HIV/AIDS policies atthe workplace” for business representatives and private companies in Moldova. The seminar was organized within the project "Enhancing Access to Prevention, Treatment and Care within the National Program for Prevention and Control of HIV / AIDS / STI 2006-2010", funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.


Recruitment of a consultant for for report writing Assessment of gender-associated vulnerabilities to HIV/AIDS on the left bank of Nistru (Transnistria region) of the Republic of Moldova

The report of the assessment shall include separate components on both the quantitative and qualitative research, and shall focus on a comparative analysis of the results for both banks. A detailed description of methodology and of the size estimations component shall also be provided.   


Recruitment of a consultant to develop the Operational Guide

Based on the methodology of the assessments carried out, and on lessons learnt through the Belarus and the Moldova assessments, national consultancy shall be secured to assist the UN JT to develop jointly with the UN JT from Belarus a Guide documenting the methodology, process, and lessons learnt from the assessments that could be used when planning similar assessments in other concentrated epidemics in the region.


Assisting Communities Together (ACT) Project seventh phase (2011-2012)

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), established the ACT Project to financially support - through grants - local human rights activities carried out by non-governmental organizations (NGOs), local associations and other similar institutions. 


Recruitment of a consultant to prepare a country reporting draft for the Universal Access Initiative in scaling Up Treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS

Republic of Moldova is part of the global commitments to Millennium Development Goals, including Goal 6 (MDG6): Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases, based on the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS, as agreed during the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS in June 2001. In 2006 the UN adopted the target of Universal Access to HIV prevention, treatment and care by 2010, with the aim of coming as close as possible to the goal of universal access to treatment by 2010 for all those who need it.


Recruitment of Assistants for the Joint Assessment Team of the National Disease Strategies 2011

A number of different partners are working together in 2011 to support, and use the results of, a joint assessment of a country’s disease strategy documentation. Joint assessment is a shared process whereby country stakeholders and international partners come together to carry out an independent assessment of a national strategy against an internationally-agreed set of criteria (or ‘attributes’) for sound strategies.

The aim of the 2011Universal Access reviews to be conducted in Moldova is to provide an opportunity for stakeholders and constituencies to take stock of steps towards national targets, identify current obstacles and decide together about what needs to be done now in order to achieve universal access and ultimately the MDGs.
